Description
Texture is essential in Japanese fried dishes. Use this panko to achieve authentic Japanese-style frying results. Panko is a Japanese-style breadcrumb used in popular dishes such as chicken katsu (deep-fried chicken cutlet). Yutaka Panko is made using traditional techniques by baking soft white bread, removing the crusts, and coarsely grinding the bread into large 6mm flakes. These large, airy flakes absorb less grease and stay crispier for longer than traditional breadcrumbs, making them perfect for deep frying. Panko is also widely used as a crunchy topping for salads or as a binder for hamburger patties and meatballs.
Coat meat or fish in flour and beaten egg, then cover with panko breadcrumbs.Simply deep-fry until golden and crispy.
