「こしひかり」は日本の全国各地で栽培されており、40年間以上第一位の作付け規模を継続する日本米の代表品種です。新潟産こしひかりは越後平野・頸城平野など広大な穀倉地帯を中心に生産されます。河川から豊かな栄養を含んだ水が流れ込み、味わい豊かな米を育みます。強い旨みと粘りが特徴で、炊き上がったときの米の香りやツヤ、やわらかい歯ごたえを楽しめます。他の米を食べると物足りなく感じるほどお米の味わいが深く、濃い味付けの料理との相性も抜群です。
